Last month, we talked about the beginnings of a major demolition and environmental abatement project that broke ground at LAX. That was just the beginning for Matrix Environmental as this project is expected to run over the span of three years.

Matrix Environmental has been involved in a number of different structural demolition and hazardous materials remediation projects at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Recently, we were contracted to handle 23 different demolition projects on the airport’s property as they continue to expand and upgrade their facilities.

In 2017, Matrix Environmental was hired to complete a major site demolition project that would allow for redevelopment of a commercial property. The original site was a decommissioned concrete plant. All of the structures had to be removed and properly demolished in order to allow for future excavation and construction of new structures on the property.

Matrix Environmental recently completed a major demolition project at the UCLA Community Health Sciences facility. It was a $2.2 million project that proved to be a complex demolition. To ensure the safety of UCLA students and staff, the developers hired Matrix Environmental to make sure the demolition work was done properly.

A few years back, United Airlines was undergoing a major renovation project of its hangars. They were retrofitting all of the structural elements and making upgrades to their buildings. Before they could start any new construction, however, they needed to complete the demolition of the old hangar structures. That’s when those involved with the project reached out to Matrix Environmental for help.

The USC Village opened in 2017 with a lot of fanfare as a massive shopping, dining and lifestyle complex attached to the University of Southern California campus. The property used to be known as University Village but underwent a complete facelift as many new businesses were brought in to revitalize the community.
